Not Apple Pie

This recipe represents everything about family, heart, love, friendship and happiness. Jewish Apple Coffee Cake is the best at the beginning of the day with coffee and at the end of the day for dessert with ice cream. It's the best at the end of a really great day. It’s an easy recipe (much easier than pie) to make, to bring and to serve.

 
 

Recipe for Jewish Apple Coffee Cake:

·      4 medium to large apples peeled and sliced 

·      2 tsp cinnamon 

·      2 Tablespoons sugar 

·      3 cups flour 

·      2 cups sugar 

·      1 cup oil 

·      4 eggs 

·      1 tbsp baking powder 

·      1/4 cup orange juice 

·      2 tsp vanilla 

1.     Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 

2.     Liberally spray a tube pan with cooking spray or heavily grease with butter and flour.

3.     Combine the first 3 ingredients and set aside. 

4.     In a large bowl combine the remainder of the ingredients and mix until combined. do not over stir.

5.      Layer half of the batter in the bottom of the tube pan. 

6.     Spread half of the apple mixture over the top. 

7.     Add the remainder of the batter and add sliced apples in a scalloped pattern over the top.

8.     Bake for 1 hour or 1hour 10 minutes.

9.      Let rest in pan for 10 to 20 minutes and turn out on wire rack.
