How to make Crème Brûlée -- aka Burnt Cream

Creme brûlée is a delicious dessert, but it's not always easy to find the perfect recipe. But you might be surprised at how easy this lighter recipe is! How to make creme brûlée with only 4 ingredients!

 
 

2/3 cup heavy cream

1 and 1/3 cup milk

1/3 cup sugar plus some brown sugar for the top

2 egg yolks

2 whole eggs

2 tsp vanilla

Heat or scald milk slightly until foam forms on the side of the pan.

Mix the eggs and sugar together and whisk until a pale yellow

temper cream into eggs slowly and then add the remainder of the cream

Add vanilla

pour into ramikins and place in an oven safe dish

add hot water around the ramikins and bake at 350 for 30 minutes until set

remove from oven and chill until ready to serve

add about a tsp of sugar to the top of the of the custard and gently use a blow torch or broiler to make the hard crusty lovely topping. Serve immediately.
